SummaCare Cleveland Clinic Eligibility Verification Issue

We are making you aware of an issue that is sporadic and not widespread but that can be confusing and frustrating. The Cleveland Clinic (CC) is having issues with verifying member eligibility. SummaCare has confirmed that the eligibility files we transmit are accurate, indicating that the issue appears to be on the Cleveland Clinic side. CC has submitted a repair ticket with their eligibility vendor to address and resolve the matter.

Cleveland Clinic has notified their frontline registration teams and call center staff of the issue and instructed them to contact SummaCare Provider Services or access PlanCentral (SummaCare’s provider portal) to confirm eligibility. However, we continue to receive reports that this process is not always being followed consistently.

In the interim, if you are contacted by a member or group while the member is still at a Cleveland

Clinic location, please advise the member to ask the registration representative to call SummaCare Provider Services or to check PlanCentral for eligibility verification.

Currently, we have not received an estimated time of resolution from Cleveland Clinic.
