American General Life Insurance Company (AGL)'s first priority is the welfare of their customers and employees. Many residents in Texas do not have access to or have lost their homes or records during the recent hurricane, tornadoes and flooding. Along with state regulators, AGL wants to work with affected residents during this difficult time.
Effective immediately, a temporary suspension is in effect on lapses, terminations, cancellations and other time-sensitive provision requirements of the insurance policies or annuity contracts for insured customers residing in a county declared a federal or state disaster area in Texas. This is to protect the policyholders from accidental termination. AGL will process other requests to help them in as timely a manner as possible. The temporary suspension applies from August 23, 2017, and runs through November 23, 2017.
If an insured does receive a notice regarding the lapse, termination, cancellation or other time-sensitive provisions of their policy or contract, they should contact AGL's customer service center at the numbers listed below.
AGL's goal is to take care of their customers, and they encourage insureds living in Texas to contact their agents or AGL's customer service center should they have any questions regarding their insurance policies or annuity contracts.
