Long Term Care Partnership Programs
In 2006, federal legislation expanded LTC Partnership programs beyond the four original states. The legislation also mandated that states require producers to demonstrate an understanding of LTC Insurance Partnership policies by completing both initial and ongoing training programs.
As a result, the NAIC developed producer training standards as a template, which many states are adopting without change. Other states are choosing to implement state-specific Partnership requirements.
