New fixed annuity applications launching May 15, 2009
Lincoln will introduce new applications on May 15, 2009. The new applications are designed to better serve producer needs and address NIGO (not in good order) issues. The applications consist of a core three-page application and a product-specific supplement, and are used to submit fixed, fixed indexed, and immediate income annuity business. The application and the appropriate supplement will always be provided as a single document.
Enhancements have been made to:
Help reduce NIGOs
“Product being applied for” is now included as a numbered section.
“Required” sections are now clearly marked.
A checklist for new business requirements is included on the Representative/Agent Information page.
Make the application easier to complete:
Additional space for beneficiary designations and a checkbox for “primary” or “contingent” beneficiary.
Streamlined input for the “type of annuity applied for.”
Provide clarification on certain requirements:
In-force and replacement contract information and requirements are easier to understand.
Reduce the need for additional forms:
Language added to the application/supplements eliminates the need for certain standalone forms.
Protect personal information
Social security number for the Representative/Agent is now part of the supplement, and is not included in information given to the client during contract delivery.
