MetLife Investors is pleased to announce significant changes to their Foreign Travel Program, which now allows your clients to spend up to 12 weeks in 162 countries and still be eligible for life insurance. These changes further solidify MetLife’s position as one of the industry leaders for insurable foreign travel.
Here are the highlights:
1. Up to 12 weeks of travel in a six-month period to countries in the A, B or C categories.
2. 27 countries have been moved up to higher categories
3. The Aa category has been eliminated and countries in that category moved to the A, B, and C categories
4. Autobind, jumbo and MetLife retention limits increased
5. On a case by case basis, MetLife will consider retaining up to $2 million of coverage for leisure travel to a D country for less than two weeks if your client is staying in affluent resort accommodations similar to those found in the United States
Seven Countries Now Eligible
Seven countries that had been ineligible for foreign travel have been moved up to the list of C countries where your clients can spend up to 12 weeks in a 12-month period and be eligible for insurance with no extra charge for the travel risk. These countries are:
Algeria
Bhutan
Dominican Republic
Guyana
Uzbekistan
Suriname
Turkmenistan
