Important American Community Update

On June 15th, Golden Rule announced a program in conjunction with the Michigan Office of Insurance Regulation to offer American Community's (ACM) insured individuals the option to transfer their coverage to Golden Rule. Starting in July, Golden Rule will be mailing letters directly to American Community customers. After numerous conversations, and questions from agents we wanted to release the following information:
The Michigan Dept of Insurance negotiated this complete block of business roll-over with UHC and the details were finalized on 6/9/10. The terms of the roll-over do not allow payment of commissions to agents.
42,000 individual ACM customers in 14 states will be given the opportunity to purchase a Golden Rule plan regardless of health.
The effective dates of the plans will be 8/15/10.
They will automatically be given standard rates but can try to qualify for preferred rates and/or plan changes within 30 days of receiving the offer.
If they have an ACM PPO Plan they will be offered the $2500 Ded Copay Select Plan - they can call Golden Rule and request a higher deductible without underwriting.
If they have an ACM HSA Plan they will be offered the $2500/$5000 Ded 100% HSA Plan - they can request a higher deductible.
Golden Rule will not allow deductible credit.
ACM individual policyholders that don't act now may end up having their ACM coverage cancelled. Contact BUA to get updated quotes from Golden Rule, Anthem, WORLD, IAC and more that will pay you the full agent commission.
Additionally, keep an eye out for a new third quarter individual health bonus program only from BUA to be announced shortly.
